MY AD OF THE WEEK .22

8 Jun 2013

I love these outdoor executions for IBM 'For Smarter Cities', advertising with a purpose. They are so simple, beautifully and useful at the same time. One of those 'I wish I did that'.

THE NEW AND OLD CAFE DEL MAR

2 Jun 2013

Earlier this week I got back from a trip to Ibiza. Where I visited the famous Cafe Del Mar (which is a must). They have had a new extension, which is very modern and it sits right next to original 1980 building. I thought a great way to portray it for you to see, was the comparison between their two signs in this gif.

MY AD OF THE WEEK .21

1 Jun 2013

This week it goes to a fantastic digital execution by Ogilvy Paris for Scrabble Wifi, watch the case study here. It brings the traditional board game 'Scrabble' into the digital age by setting up a wifi network in parts of Paris that haven't got any coverage. But rather than joining the network for free, the word you spell with the given letters is the password and just like the game, the better the word, the more points you will receive. But in this case, points = how many minutes of free wifi you'll get.

MY AD OF THE WEEK .20

23 May 2013

This week it goes to an ad for Channel 4's 'Mating Season'. Slightly sad at first, it then transforms into a very funny ad (you'll know which bit) I don't want to ruin it for you. Another great piece by 4creative. A little warning for Tortoises, it rated 18.

MY AD OF THE WEEK .19

17 May 2013

This idea solves a huge problem, of people drinking and driving during the Rio carnival. They created a new turnstile that accepted empty beer cans to get people to use public transport instead of driving and the results are impressive.

PAUL SMITH ILLUSTRATION

14 May 2013

Last week I revealed some illustrations for an entry to a Paul Smith competition. The competition asks the public to post a decorated envelope to his new Beak Street shop (which is opening this summer) and Paul Smith will pick a few to be featured in his new shop. Below is my piece.

The illustrated stamps create the address, I used a real 1st class stamp as the 'I" in Paul Smith's surname and selected key colours from his famous stripes.

You can still enter the competition yourself. The deadline is the 27th May so you've still got some time. Good luck and I hope to see your envelope next to mine in his new shop.
